８章

1.　イエスはオリーブ山に行かれた。

2.　ところで、その朝早く、彼はもう一度神殿にお出でになった。すると、人々は皆で彼の所に来た。そして、彼は腰をかけて彼らに教えられた。

3.　その時、法学者たちやファリサイ派の人々が彼の所に不倫をしている中で捕らえられた一人の女性を連れてきた。そして、彼らはその女性（彼女）をまん中に置いて、

4.　彼に言った。「教師よ、この女はまさに不倫の現場で捕らえられた。

5.　ところで、モーセは法で、私たちにこのような者は石打の刑に処せよと命じているが、あなたはどう言われるのか？」

6.　彼らは彼を試して、何か彼を訴える口実を得るためにこの事を言ったのである。しかし、イエスはかがんでおられ、そしてその地に（彼の）指でまるで、聞いていなかったかのように、何か書いておられた。

7.　彼らは彼に問いつづけた。すると彼は起き上がって彼らに仰せになった。「あなたがたの中で、罪のない人が彼女にまず石を投げつけなさい。」

8.　そして、再び彼はかがんで地に書き続けられた。

9.　その時、それを聞いていた人々は良心が責められ、年寄りからはじめて最後の一人まで、一人、また一人と出て行った。そしてイエスは一人で残され、また、その女性は真中に立っていた。

10.　イエスが起き上がると、その女性のほかには誰もいないのをご覧になった。彼は彼女に仰せになった。「女の人よ、あなたの罪を訴えていた人たちはどこか？誰もあなたを裁かなかったのか？」

11.　彼女は言った。「誰も、主よ。」すると、イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「私もあなたを裁いていない。行きなさい。そして、もう罪を犯してはいけない。」

12.　その時、イエスは彼らに再び語って、こう仰せになった。「私はこの世界の光である。私について来る人は、闇の中を歩く事がなく、命の光を持っている。」

13.　そこで、ファリサイ派の人々は彼に言った。「あなたは自分自身のことを証言している。あなたの証言は真実ではない。」

14.　イエスは答え、そして彼らに仰せになった。「もし、私が自分自身について証言しているとしても、私の証言は真実である。なぜなら、私は自分が（私が）どこから来たのかを知っている。また、私がどこに行くのかをも知っている。しかし、あなたがたは私がどこからきたのか、また、どこに行こうとしているのかを知らない。

15.　あなたがたは肉によって判断している。私は誰も判断しない。

16.　そして、もし、私が判断するなら、私の判断は真実である。なぜなら、私は一人ではなく、私を遣わされた父が私と一緒におられるからだ。

17.　あなたがたの法にも、二人の証言は真実であると、書いてある。

18.　私は自分自身について証言し、そして私を遣わされた父が、私について証言なさっている。」

19.　その時、彼らは彼に言った。「あなたの父は、どこにいるのか？」イエスはお答えになった。「あなたがたは私も、私の父も知っていない。もし、あなたがたが私を知っていたなら、あなたがたは私の父も知っているはずだ。」

22.　そこで、ユダヤ人たちは言った。「彼は自殺するのか？『私が行こうとしているところにあなたがたが来る事はできない』とは。」

23.　すると、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「あなたがたは下からの出身で、私は上からの者だ。あなたがたはこのこの世界の者だが、わたしはこのこの世界の者ではない。

24.　だから、私はあなたがたに、あなたがたが自分の（あなたがたの）罪のうちに死ぬと言った。あなたがたは私が彼であることを信じないから、自分の罪のうちに死ぬのだ。」

25.　その時、彼らは彼に言った。「あなたは誰なのだ？」そしてイエスは彼らに仰せになった。「それこそが、最初から私があなたがたに言ってきたことだ。

26.　私はあなたがたについて、言うべきこと、裁くべきことがたくさんある。しかし、私を遣わされたお方は真実だ。そして、私はこの世界に、彼から聞いたことを語っている。」

27.　彼らは彼が父について、彼らに仰せになっている事を悟らなかった。

28.　その時、イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「あなたがたが人の子を上げると、その時、あなたがたは私が彼であったことを悟る。そして、私が自分自身からは何もしないで、私の父が私にお教えになったように、私がこれらの事を語っていることを悟るようになる。

29.　そして、私を遣わされたお方は、私と一緒におられる。父は私を一人になさることはない。私はいつも彼が喜ぶことををしているからだ。」

30.　彼がこれらの言葉を仰せになっていると、多くの人々が彼を信じた。

31.　その時、イエスは彼を信じたそれらのユダヤ人たちに仰せになった。「もし、あなたがたが私の言葉に留まっているなら、あなたがたは確かに私の弟子なのだ。

32.　そして、あなたがたは真理を知る。そして、真理はあなたがたを自由にする。」

33.　彼らは彼に答えた。「私たちはアブラハムの子孫です。そして、誰にも捕らわれていたことはありません。どうしてあなたは『あなたがたを自由にする』と言うのですか？」

34.　イエスは彼らにお答えになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私はあなたがたに言う。だれでも罪を犯している人は、罪の奴隷なのだ。

35.　そして、奴隷は家の中に永遠にとどまっているものではない。しかし、息子は永遠にとどまっている。

36.　だから、もし、この息子があなたがたを自由にするなら、あなたがたは確かに自由になる。

37.　私は、あなたがたがアブラハムの子孫である事を知っている。しかし、あなたがたは私を殺そうとしている。私の言葉があなたがたのうちには、どこにもないからだ。

45.　しかし、私が真理を語っているので、あなたがたは私を信じていない。

46.　あなたがたの内の誰が、私の罪について確信があるというのか？そして、もし、私が真理を語っているなら、どうしてあなたがたは私を信じていないのか？

47.　天の神に属する者は、天の神の言葉を聞いているが、あなたがたは聞いていない。あなたがたは天の神に属する者ではないからだ。」

50.　また、私は私の栄光を求めてはいない。それを求めて裁きをしている方がおられる。

51.　アーメン、アーメン、私はあなたがたに言う。もし、だれかが私の言葉を守っているなら、その人は決して、永遠に死を見ることがない。」

52.　その時、ユダヤ人たちは彼に言った。「今、私たちはあなたがダイモニオン（ダイモニオン）つきだということが分かった。！アブラハムは死んでいる。そして、預言者たちもだ。しかしあなたは言うのだ。『もし、誰かが私の言葉を守っているなら、彼は決して永遠に死を味わう事がない』と。

53.　あなたは死んだ私たちの父アブラハムよりも偉いというのか？預言者たちも死んでいるのに。あなたは自分自身を何者だとするのか？」

54.　イエスはお答えになった。「もし、私が自分自身を崇めているのなら、私の栄光は虚しい。私を高めているのは、あなたがたがその方があなたがたの天の神だと言っている、私の父だ。

55.　あなたがたは彼を知らなかった。しかし、私は彼を知っている。そして、もし私が『私は彼を知らない。』と言うなら、私はあなたがたと同じように偽りものだ。しかし、私は彼を知っており、そして、彼の言葉を守っている。

56.　あなたがたの父アブラハムは、私の日を見ようとして楽しんでいた。そして、彼はそれを見、そして喜んだ。」

57.　その時、ユダヤ人たちは彼に言った。「あなたはまだ五十にもなっていない。それなのに、あなたはアブラハムを見たというのか？」

Joh 8:1  But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Joh 8:2  And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him. And He sat down and taught them.

Joh 8:3  And the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery. And standing her in the midst,

Joh 8:4  they said to Him, Teacher, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.

Joh 8:5  Now Moses in the Law commanded us that such should be stoned. You, then, what do you say?

Joh 8:6  They said this, tempting Him so that they might have reason to accuse Him. But bending down, Jesus wrote on the ground with His finger, not appearing to hear.

Joh 8:7  But as they continued to ask Him, He lifted Himself up and said to them, He who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.

Joh 8:8  And again bending down, He wrote on the ground.

Joh 8:9  And hearing, and being convicted by conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the oldest, until the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

Joh 8:10  And bending back up, and seeing no one but the woman, Jesus said to her, Woman, where are the ones who accused you? Did not one give judgment against you?

Joh 8:11  And she said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I give judgment. Go, and sin no more.

Joh 8:12  Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joh 8:13  Therefore the Pharisees said to Him, You bear record concerning yourself; your witness is not true.

Joh 8:14  Jesus answered and said to them, Though I bear record concerning Myself, My witness is true. For I know from where I came, and where I go. But you do not know from where I came, and where I go.

Joh 8:15  You judge after the flesh, I judge no one.

Joh 8:16  And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent Me.

Joh 8:17  It is also written in your Law that the testimony of two men is true.

Joh 8:18  I am one who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness concerning Me.

Joh 8:19  Then they said to Him, Where is your father? Jesus said to them, You neither know Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

Joh 8:20  Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as He taught in the temple. And no man laid hands upon Him, for His hour had not yet come.

Joh 8:21  Then Jesus said again to them, I go away, and you shall seek Me and shall die in your sins. Where I go, you cannot come.

Joh 8:22  Then the Jews said, Will he kill himself? Because he says, Where I go you cannot come.

Joh 8:23  And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

Joh 8:24  Therefore I said to you that you shall die in your sins, for if you do not believe that I AM, you shall die in your sins.

Joh 8:25  Then they said to Him, Who are you? And Jesus said to them, Even the same which I also say to you.

Joh 8:26  I have many things to say and to judge of you, but He who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things what I heard of Him.

Joh 8:27  They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.

Joh 8:28  Then Jesus said to them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you shall know that I AM, and that I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.

Joh 8:29  And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things which please Him.

Joh 8:30  As He spoke these words, many believed upon Him.

Joh 8:31  Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed on Him, If you continue in My Word, you are My disciples indeed.

Joh 8:32  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Joh 8:33  They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed and were never in bondage to anyone. How do you say, You will be made free?

Joh 8:34  Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever practices sin is the slave of sin.

Joh 8:35  And the slave does not abide in the house forever, but the Son abides forever.

Joh 8:36  Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

Joh 8:37  I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me because My Word has no place in you.

Joh 8:38  I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you, then, do what you have seen with your father.

Joh 8:39  They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Jesus answered them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham.

Joh 8:40  But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth which I have heard beside God; this Abraham did not do.

Joh 8:41  You do the deeds of your father. Then they said to Him, We are not born of fornication; we have one father, even God.

Joh 8:42  Jesus said to them, If God were your father, you would love Me, for I went forth and came from God; for I did not come of Myself, but He sent Me.

Joh 8:43  Why do you not know My speech? Because you cannot hear My Word.

Joh 8:44  You are of the Devil as father, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not abide in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Joh 8:45  And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me.

Joh 8:46  Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do you not believe Me?

Joh 8:47  He who is of God hears God's Words. Therefore you do not hear them because you are not of God.

Joh 8:48  Then the Jews answered and said to Him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?

Joh 8:49  Jesus answered, I do not have a demon, but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

Joh 8:50  And I do not seek My own glory, but there is One who seeks and judges.

Joh 8:51  Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keeps My Word, he shall never see death.

Joh 8:52  Then the Jews said to Him, Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham and the prophets are dead, and you say, If a man keeps my Word, he shall never taste of death.

Joh 8:53  Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? And the prophets are dead; whom do you make yourself?

Joh 8:54  Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, of whom you say that He is your God.

Joh 8:55  Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I should say I do not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I know Him and I keep His Word.

Joh 8:56  Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and He saw and was glad.

Joh 8:57  Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?

Joh 8:58  Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I AM!

Joh 8:59  Then they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and passed on by.
