ヨハネによる福音書第1章（欽定訳）

１章　済

1.　始めに言葉があった。そしてその言葉は天の神と共にあったその言葉は天の神であった。

2.　彼は初めに天の神と共におられた。

3.　全てのものは、彼を通して存在するようになった。そして存在するもののうち、彼によらないものは何ひとつなかった。

4.　彼のうちに命があった。そしてその命は人々の光であった。

5.　そして光は闇の中に現れたが[1]闇はそれを覆わなかった。

6.　天の神から遣わされていた一人の人がいた。その名はヨハネといった。

7.　彼は全ての人が信じるための証人である。

8.　彼は光ではなかったが、光についての証しをするためにいた（遣わされていた）。

9.　全ての人を照らす真理の光があって、この世界[2]に来ようとしていた。

10.　彼はこの世界におられた。この世界は彼によってできたのにこの世界は彼を知らなかった。

11.　また、彼はご自分の者たちのところにお出でになったのに、ご自分の者たちは彼を受け入れなかった。

12.　しかし、彼を受け入れた全ての人、すなわち、彼の名を信じる人々には、彼は天の神の子となる権利をお授けになったのである。

13.　その人々は血統によらず、また肉の意思にもよらず、また人の意思によらないで、ただ天の神によって生まれたのである。

14.　そして、言葉は肉体となって私たちの間に住まわれた[3]。そして私たちは彼の栄光を見た。それは父のただお一人の御子としての栄光であって、恵みと真理とで満ちていた。

15.　ヨハネは彼の証をし、大声で叫んで言った。「この方こそ、私が『私の後からお出でになる方で、私よりも優れた方です。なぜなら彼は私よりも先におられたからです』と言っていたお方です。」

16.　そして、彼に満ちているものから私たち皆は受け、そのうえ恵みの上に恵みを与えられた。

17.　法はモーセを通して与えられたが、恵みと真理とはイエス・キリストを通して来たのある。

18.　いまだかつて、誰も天の神を見た者はいない。彼のふところにおられるひとり子だけが、天の神（彼）を明らかにされたのである。

19.　ところで、これが、ユダヤ人たちがエルサレムから送ってきた祭司たちやレビ人たちの、「あなたは誰ですか」という問いに対するヨハネの証しである。

20 彼は、しかし告白して否定せず、「私はキリストではありません。」と言った。

21.　すると彼らは彼に問うた。「それならだれなのですか？あなたはエリヤですか？」彼は言った。「いいえ。私はそうではありません。」「あなたはあの預言者ですか？」すると彼は答えた。「いいえ。」

22.　それで彼らは彼に言った。「あなたは誰なのですか。私たちを遣わした人たちに答えられるようにして下さい。あなた自身をどう考えていますか？」

23.　彼は言った。「私は預言者イザヤが言っていた、『荒野で「主の道をまっすぐにせよ」と叫んでいる、声』です。」

24.　ところで、遣わされていた人々はファリサイ派の人々であった。

25.　そこで彼らは彼に尋ねて言った。「もしあなたがあのキリストでも、エリヤでも、預言者でもないのなら、どうしてあなたはバプテスマをしているのですか？」

26.　ヨハネは彼らに答えて言った。「私は水でバプテスマをしています。しかし、あなたがたの中に、あなたがたの知らない人が立っておられます。

27.　私の後からお出でになる方というのはその方のことであって、私よりも優れた方で、私はその方のサンダルのひもを解いてさし上げる価値もありません。」

28.　これらの事は、ヨルダンの向こう側のベサバラでヨハネがバプテスマをしている場所で起こった。

29.　次の日、ヨハネはイエスが彼のほうに来るのを見たので言った。「見よ、この世界の罪を取り除く、天の神の子羊。

30.　この方こそ、私が『私の後から一人の人がお出でになる。その方は私よりも優れた方です。私よりも先におられたからです。』と言っていたお方です。

31.　私は彼を知りませんでした。しかし、彼はイスラエルに現われるので、私は来て水でバプテスマをしているのです。」

32.　そして、ヨハネは証ししてこう言った。「私は聖霊が[4]天から鳩のように下って来られるのを見ました。そしてその方は彼の上に留まっておられました。

33.　私は彼を知りませんでした。しかし、私に水でバプテスマをするために遣わされた方が、私に仰せになりました。『聖霊[5]が下ってきて彼の上に留まるのをあなたが見たら、その人こそ聖霊によってバプテスマをなさるお方である。』と。

34.　そして、私は〔それを〕見たので、この方こそが、天の神の御子である、と証しをしたのです。」

35.　次の日、またヨハネは彼の二人の弟子と一緒に立っていた。

36.　そして、歩いておられるイエスを見て彼は言った。「見よ、天の神の子羊！」

37.　その二人の弟子は、彼がそう言うのを聞いて、イエスについて行った。

38.　その時イエスは振りかえって彼らがついてくるのを見て、彼らに仰せになった。

39.　「汝らは誰を捜しているのか？」彼らは彼に言った。「ラビ（それは、訳するならば、先生という）あなたはどこにお泊りになるのですか？」

40.　彼は彼らに仰せになった。「来なさい。そして見てごらん。」彼らは行って、彼がお泊りになっている所を見た。そして、その日は彼と一緒に泊まった。（さて、そのときは凡そ第十の時であった）

41.　彼から聞いて彼について行った、二人の弟子の一人はアンドレで、シモンの兄弟であった。

42.　彼はまず、自分の兄弟シモンを見つけた。そして彼に言った。「私たちはメシア（訳すとキリスト）にお会いした。」

43.　そして、彼をイエスの所に連れて行った。ところでイエスは彼を見て仰せになった。「汝はヨナの息子シモンだ。汝をケファスと呼ぼう。（訳すとペテロ）」

44.　次の日、イエスはガリラヤに行こうとされた。さて、彼はフィリッポスを見つけ、彼に仰せになった。「私について来なさい。」

45.　さて、フィリッポスはアンドレとペテロの町でもある、ベスサイダの出身であった。

46.　フィリッポスはナサナエルを見つけて彼に言った。「私たちはモーセの法[6]と預言者たちが書いているヨセフの息子、ナザレのイエスに出合った。」

47.　すると、ナサナエルは彼に言った。「ナザレからどんな良いものが出るのか？」フィリッポスは彼に言った。「来て、お会いしなさい。」

48.　イエスはナサナエルが彼の方に来るのをご覧になり、彼について仰せになった。「見なさい。真のイスラエル人である。彼には偽りがない。」

49.　ナサナエルは彼に言った。「いつ、あなたは私を知られたのですか？」イエスは答えて彼に仰せになった。「フィリッポスが汝を呼ぶ前に、汝がいちじくの木の下にいたのを私は見たのだ。」

50.　ナサナエルは答えて彼に言った。「ラビ、あなたは天の神の御子です！あなたはイスラエルの王です！」

51.　イエスは答えて彼に仰せになった。「私が汝に『私は汝がいちぢくの木の下にいたのを見た』と言ったので信じたのか？汝はこれよりももっと大いなる事を見るであろう。」

52.　それから、彼は彼に仰せになった。「アーメン、アーメン、汝らに言う。これから汝らは天が開いて天の神の使いたちが人の子の上を上ったり下ったりするのを見るであろう。」

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2  He was in the beginning with God.

Joh 1:3  All things came into being through Him, and without Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being.

Joh 1:4  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Joh 1:5  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overtake it.

Joh 1:6  There was a man sent from God; his name was John.

Joh 1:7  This one came as a witness, to bear witness concerning the Light, so that all might believe through him.

Joh 1:8  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Joh 1:9  He was the true Light; He enlightens every man coming into the world.

Joh 1:10  He was in the world, and the world came into being through Him, and the world did not know Him.

Joh 1:11  He came to His own, and His own received Him not.

Joh 1:12  But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name,

Joh 1:13  who were born, not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.

Joh 1:14  And the Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and of truth.

Joh 1:15  John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, This was He of whom I spoke: He who comes after me has been before me, for He was preceding me.

Joh 1:16  And out of His fullness we all have received, and grace for grace.

Joh 1:17  For the Law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Joh 1:18  No one has seen God at any time; the Only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

Joh 1:19  And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?

Joh 1:20  And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, I am not the Christ.

Joh 1:21  And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No.

Joh 1:22  Then they said to him, Who are you so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say of yourself?

Joh 1:23  He said, I am "the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord," as the prophet Isaiah said.

Joh 1:24  And they who were sent were from the Pharisees.

Joh 1:25  And they asked him and said, Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor that Prophet?

Joh 1:26  John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but One stands among you whom you do not know.

Joh 1:27  He it is who, coming after me, who has been before me; of whom I am not worthy to loosen the thong of His sandal.

Joh 1:28  These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Joh 1:29  The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Joh 1:30  This is He of whom I said, After me comes a Man who has been before me, for He preceded me.

Joh 1:31  And I did not know Him, but that He be revealed to Israel, therefore I have come baptizing with water.

Joh 1:32  And John bore record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and He abode on Him.

Joh 1:33  And I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water, that One said to me, Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining upon Him, He is the One who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

Joh 1:34  And I saw and bore record that this is the Son of God.

Joh 1:35  Again, the next day afterward, John stood with two of his disciples.

Joh 1:36  And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he says, Behold the Lamb of God!

Joh 1:37  And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Joh 1:38  Then Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, What do you seek? They said to Him, Rabbi (which is called, being translated, Teacher), where do you live?

Joh 1:39  He says to them, Come and see. They came and saw where He lived, and stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.

Joh 1:40  One of the two who heard John and followed Him was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Joh 1:41  He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being translated, the Christ).

Joh 1:42  And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus saw him, He said, You are Simon the son of Jonah; you shall be called Cephas (which translated is, A stone).

Joh 1:43  The day after, Jesus desired to go forth into Galilee. And He found Philip and said to him, Follow Me.

Joh 1:44  Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Joh 1:45  Philip found Nathanael and said to him, We have found Him of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Joh 1:46  And Nathanael said to him, Can there be any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see.

Joh 1:47  Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him and said of him, Behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile!

Joh 1:48  Nathanael said to Him, From where do You know me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.

Joh 1:49  Nathanael answered and said to Him, Rabbi, You are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel!

Joh 1:50  Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these.

Joh 1:51  And He said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Hereafter you shall see Heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.

２章

1.　それから三日目にガリラヤのカナで結婚式があったが、イエスの母がそこにいた。

2.　ところで、イエスと彼の弟子たちもその結婚式に招待されていた。

3.　そして、彼らがワインを切らしたので、イエスの母は彼に言った。「あの人たちはワインを切らしてしまいました。」

4.　イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「女の人、あなたは私と何の関係がありますか？私の時はまだきていません。」

5.　彼の母はその僕たちに言った。「彼があなたたちに言う事は、何でもして下さい。」

6.　さて、ユダヤ人たちの清め（の慣習）に従って、そこに石できた水がめが六つあった。７５リッターから１１０リッターくらいは入るものであった。

7.　イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「水がめを水で満たしなさい。」そこで、彼らはそれらを口まで一杯に満たした。

8.　そして、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「さあ、いくらか汲んで、それをこの宴の幹事のところに持っていきなさい。」それで、彼らは持って行った。

9.会の幹事がワインになった水を味見した時、また、それがどこから来たのかを知らなかったが、（しかし、水を汲んでいた僕たちは知っていたが）幹事は花婿を呼んで

10.　彼に言った。「だれでも最初に良いワインを出して、それからお客達に酔いがまわったから、その時により悪い物を出すものだ。あなたはよいワインを今まで取っておいたのですか。」

11.　イエスは、徴の始めをガリラヤのカナで現わし、そして、彼の栄光を現わされた。そこで、彼の弟子たちは彼を信じた。

12.　この事の後、彼はカペルナウムに行かれた。彼と、彼の母、彼の兄弟たち、また彼の弟子たちも行ったが、彼らはそこに長い日数は滞在しなかった。

13.　さて、ユダヤ人のパスカが間近になっていた。そしてイエスはエルサレムに上って行かれた。

14.　さて、彼は神殿で牛や羊や鳩を売っている人々や、両替人たちが商売しているのをご覧になった。

15.　すると、彼は縄で鞭を作って彼らを羊や雄牛と共に神殿から追いだされた。また両替人の金を投げ出してその机をひっくり返された。

16.　そして彼は鳩売りの人々に仰せになった。「これらのものを持ち去れ！私の父の家を商売人の家にするな！」

17.　その時、彼の弟子たちは、あなたが家を思う熱意が私を食い尽くした。」と書いてあるのを思い起こした。

18.　そこでユダヤ人たちは答えて彼に言った。「あなたはわれわれにどんな徴を見せるのか、こんなことをするからには？」

19.　イエスは答えて彼らに仰せになった。「この神殿を破壊してみよ。そうしたら私は三日の内にそれを建て直そう。」

20.　その時そのユダヤ人達は言った「この神殿を建設するのに四十六年もかかっているのにあなたはそれを三日で建て直すのか？」

21.　しかし、彼はご自分の（彼の）体である神殿について仰せになっていたのである。

22.　そういうわけで、彼が死から復活した時、彼の弟子たちは彼がこのことを彼らに仰せになっていたのを思い起した。そして、聖書とイエスが仰せになった言葉を信じた。

23.　ところで、彼がエルサレムにおられたときはパスカの時であり、祭りの最中であったので、多くの人々が彼がなさった徴を見て、彼の御名を信じた。

24.　しかし、イエスご自身は彼らにご自分をお委ねにならなかった。彼はすべての人をご存知であったからである。

25.　また、人についての証しは誰からも必要となさらなかった。彼は人の内にあることを知っておられたからである。

Joh 2:1  And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. And the mother of Jesus was there.

Joh 2:2  And Jesus and His disciples were both invited to the marriage.

Joh 2:3  And when they lacked wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, They have no wine.

Joh 2:4  Jesus said to her, Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet come.

Joh 2:5  His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it.

Joh 2:6  And there were six stone waterpots there, according to the purification of the Jews, each containing two or three measures.

Joh 2:7  Jesus said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

Joh 2:8  And He said to them, Now draw out and carry it to the master of the feast. And they carried it.

Joh 2:9  When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water which was made wine (and did not know where it was from, but the servants who drew the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.

Joh 2:10  And he said to him, Every man at the beginning sets forth good wine, and when men have drunk well, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now.

Joh 2:11  This beginning of miracles Jesus did in Cana of Galilee. And it revealed His glory. And His disciples believed on Him.

Joh 2:12  After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His disciples. And they did not stay there many days.

Joh 2:13  And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

Joh 2:14  And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting.

Joh 2:15  And when He had made a scourge of small cords, He drove them all out of the temple, also the sheep and the oxen. And He poured out the money-changers' money and overthrew the tables.

Joh 2:16  And He said to those who sold doves, Take these things away from here. Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise.

Joh 2:17  And His disciples remembered that it was written, "The zeal of Your house has eaten Me up."

Joh 2:18  Then the Jews answered and said to Him, What sign do you show us, since you do these things?

Joh 2:19  Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.

Joh 2:20  Then the Jews said, This temple was forty-six years building, and will you rear it up in three days?

Joh 2:21  But He spoke of the temple of His body.

Joh 2:22  Therefore when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them, and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Joh 2:23  And as He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, at the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the miracles which He did.

Joh 2:24  But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all

Joh 2:25  and did not need that anyone should testify of man. For He knew what was in man. 

ヨハネによる福音書第3章（欽定訳）

３章

1.　さて、ファリサイ派の人で、ニコデムスというユダヤ人たちの指導者[1]の一人である人がいた。

2.　この人が夜、イエスの所に来て彼に言った。「ラビ、私たちはあなたが天の神からお出でになった教師であることを知っています。天の神があなた（彼）と共におられないなら、だれもあなたがなさっているようなこれらの徴を行う事は出来ないからです。」

3.　イエスは答えて彼に仰せになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私は汝に言う。人は上から[2]生まれなければ天の神の王国[3]を見ることは出来ない。」

4.　ニコデムスは彼に言った。「人は（彼が）年を取っている時に、どうやって再び生まれることができるというのですか？　彼の母親の胎にもう一度入って生まれるというのですか？」

5.　イエスはお答えになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私は汝に言う。人は水と霊[4]から生まれなくては天の神の王国に入ることはできない。

6.　肉から生まれるものは肉であり、霊から生まれるものは霊なのである。

7.　私があなたに『汝に、はもう一度生まれなければならない』と言ったことを驚いてはいけない。

8.　風はその趣のままに吹いている。そして、汝はその音は聞くであろう。しかし、それがどこから来ていて、どこに行くのかを言う事はできない。霊から生まれる人も皆同様である。」

9.　ニコデムスは答えてイエスに言った。「どうしてそのような事があり得ますか？」

10.　イエスは答えて彼に仰せになった。「汝はイスラエルの教師ではないか。それなのにこれらの事を知らないのか？

11.　アーメン、アーメン、私は汝に言う。私たちは自分たちの知っていることを話しているし、私たちが見たことを証している。それなのに[5]汝らは私たちの証しを受け入れない。

12.　もし、私が地上でのことを話したのに[6]汝らが信じていないなら、私が天の事を話しても、どうして汝らは信じるだろうか？

13.　天から下ってきた者、すなわち、天にいた人の子以外には、だれも天に昇った者はいない。

14.　モーセが荒野でヘビを上げたように、人の子も上げられなければならない。

15.　それは、彼を信じている人が誰も滅びないで永遠の命を持つためである。」

16.　天の神は、ご自分のひとり子をお与えになったほどにこの世界を愛された。それは、彼を信じるすべての人が滅びないで永遠[7]の命を持つためである。

17.　天の神がご自分の御子をこの世界に遣わされたのは、この世界を裁くためではなくこの世界が彼によって救われるためである。

18.　彼を信じている人は裁かれていない[8]。しかし、彼を信じていない人はすでに裁かれている。彼が天の神のひとり子の名を信じていなかったからである。

19.　そして、裁き[9]とはこのことである。すなわち、光がこの世界に来たが、人々は光よりも闇を愛した。彼らの行いが悪いからである。

20.　悪い行いをしている人は皆光を憎んで光に来ようとしない。彼の行いが明らかにされないためである。

21.　しかし、真理を行っている人は光に来ている。それは、彼の行いが天の神にあっておこなっていた事が明らかにされるためである。

22.　これらの事の後、イエスと彼の弟子たちとはユダヤの地に入った。しかし彼は彼らと一緒にとどまって、バプテスマを行っていた。

23.　ところで、ヨハネもまたサリムに近いアエノンでバプテスマをしていた。なぜならそこに水がたくさんあったからである。そして、人々はバプテスマを受けに来ていた。

24.　ヨハネの投獄は、まだされていなかったからである。

25.　その時、ヨハネの弟子たちの中の何人かとユダヤ人たちとの間に、清めについての論争が起こった。

26.　そして、彼らはヨハネのところに来て彼に言った。「ラビ、あなたと一緒におられて、あなたが証しされていた人がヨルダンの向こうでバプテスマをしており、そして皆がその人の所に行っています。」

27.　ヨハネは答えて言った。「人は天から与えられるものでなければ、何も受けることが出来ない。

28.　あなたがた自身が、私が、『私はキリストではなく、彼の前に使わされた者だ』と語っていたことの証人なのだ。

29.　花嫁の持ち主は花婿である。花婿の友人は立って、花婿の声を聞いて大いに喜んでいる。私のこの喜びは満たされている。

30.　彼は強くなっていき、私は衰える。」

31.　上からお出でになる方は、すべての上におられ、地から来る者は地上の者で、地上の言葉を話す。しかし、諸々の天から来られた方はすべての上におられる。

32.　そして、彼が証しをしている諸々のことは、彼が見聞きしておられた事なのに、誰も彼の証を受け入れていない。

33.　しかし彼の証を受け入れた人は、天の神が真理であることを認めている。

34.　天の神が送られた方は、天の神の言葉を語っておられる。天の神が聖霊を無限にお与えになるからである。

35.　父は御子を愛し、そして彼の手にすべてのものを与えておられる。

36．御子を信じている人は永遠の命を持っているが、御子を[10]信じていない人は命を見ることがなく、天の神の[11]激しい怒りが彼の上に留まっている。

Joh 3:1  And there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

Joh 3:2  He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles which you do unless God is with him.

Joh 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:4  Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?

Joh 3:5  Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Joh 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Joh 3:7  Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again.

Joh 3:8  The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice, but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Joh 3:9  Nicodemus answered and said to Him, How can these things be?

Joh 3:10  Jesus answered and said to him, Are you the teacher of Israel and do not know these things?

Joh 3:11  Truly, truly, I say to you, We speak what we know and testify what we have seen. And you do not receive our witness.

Joh 3:12  If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how shall you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

Joh 3:13  And no one has ascended up to Heaven except He who came down from Heaven, the Son of Man who is in Heaven.

Joh 3:14  But even as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

Joh 3:15  so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Joh 3:17  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.

Joh 3:18  He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.

Joh 3:19  And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.

Joh 3:20  For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

Joh 3:21  But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.

Joh 3:22  After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea. And He stayed there with them and baptized.

Joh 3:23  And John was also baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized.

Joh 3:24  For John had not yet been cast into prison.

Joh 3:25  Then a question from John's disciples arose with the Jews about purification.

Joh 3:26  And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, He who was with you beyond Jordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, He baptizes, and all come to Him!

Joh 3:27  And John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it is given to him from Heaven.

Joh 3:28  You yourselves bear witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before Him.

Joh 3:29  He who has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears him rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Then my joy is fulfilled.

Joh 3:30  He must increase, but I must decrease.

Joh 3:31  He who comes from above is above all; he who is from the earth is earthly and speaks from the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all,

Joh 3:32  and what He has seen and heard, that He testifies, and no one receives His testimony.

Joh 3:33  He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.

Joh 3:34  For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

Joh 3:35  The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.

Joh 3:36  He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

４章

1.　主は、ファリサイ派の人々がイエスがヨハネよりも多くの人々にバプテスマをしているのを聞いたと知られたので、

2.　（しかし、イエスご自身がバプテスマをなさっていたのではなく、彼の弟子たちであった。）

3．　彼はユダヤを離れて再びガリラヤへと発たれた。

4.　しかし、彼はサマリヤを通っていく[1]必要があった。

5.　そして、彼はサマリヤの町の一つにお出でになった。それはスカルと呼ばれ、ヤコブが彼の息子ヨセフに与えた土地の近くにあった。

6.　ところでそこにヤコブの井戸があった。イエスは（ご自分の）旅に疲れていたので、その井戸の傍らに座っておられた。それはおよそ第六の時であった。

7.　すると、一人のサマリヤの女性が水を汲みにやって来た。イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「私に水を飲ませてください。」

8.　彼の弟子たちは町に食料を買いに出かけていたからである。

9.　その時サマリヤの女性は彼に言った。「ユダヤ人のあなたが、どうして私から水を飲ませてほしいと言うのですか。私はサマリヤの女ですよ？」ユダヤ人たちはサマリヤ人とは何の付き合いもしなかったからである。

10.　イエスは答えて彼女に仰せになった。「もしあなたが天の神の賜物を知っていたなら、また、汝に『私に水を飲ませてください』と言っている者が誰かを知っていたなら、汝が彼に生ける水を求め、彼はそれを汝与えるであろう。」

11.　その女性は彼に言った。「ご主人、あなたは汲むためのものを何も持っていません。そしてこの井戸は深いのです。それなら、どこからその生きた水を手に入れるのですか？

12.　あなたは、私たちの父ヤコブよりも偉いのですか。彼は私たちに井戸を下さったのです。また、彼自身もそれから飲みました。彼の息子たちも、家畜たちも同じようにしたのですが？」

13.　イエスは彼女に答えて仰せになった。「誰でもこの水を飲んでいる人はまた渇く。

14.　しかし、誰でも私が与える水を飲んでいる人は、決して渇く事がない。私がその人に与える水は、その人（彼）のなかで泉となって永遠の命に至る水が湧き上がるであろう。」

15.　その女性は彼に言った。「ご主人、私が乾かないで、ここに汲みに来なくてもよいように、私に水を下さい。」

16.　イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「行って、あなたの夫を呼んでしてここに来なさい。」

17.　その女性は答え、そして彼に言った。「私には夫はございません。」イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「あなたは良くぞ言ったものだ。『私には夫がない』と。

18.　実際、あなたには五人の夫がいたが、今の人はあなたの夫ではないからだ。あなたが言っている事は事実である。」

19.　その女性は彼に言った。「ご主人様、私はあなたが預言者ではないかと思います。

20.　私たちの祖先たちは、この山で礼拝をしていましたが、あなたがたユダヤ人たちはエルサレムこそが礼拝すべき場所だと言っています。」

21.　イエスは彼女に仰せになった。「女の人、私を信じていなさい。汝らが、この山でもエルサレムでもない場所で父を礼拝する時が来ようとしている。

22.　汝らは、汝らの知らない方を礼拝しているが、私たちは私たちが礼拝している方を知っている。救いはユダヤ人のものだからだ。

23.　しかし、真実の礼拝者たちが父を霊と真理とによって礼拝する時が来ている。そして、それは今である。父は、彼をそのように礼拝する人々を求めておられるからだ。

24.　天の神は霊だ。そして、彼を礼拝する人々は、霊と真実とによって礼拝しなければならない。」

25.　その女性は彼に言った。「私はメシヤ（その方はキリストと呼ばれる）が来て下さることを知っています。彼がお出でになったら、彼は私たちに全てを教えてくださるでしょう。」

26.　イエスは彼女に仰せになった「あなたに話している、私こそがその人である。」

27.　そして、ちょうどその時、彼の弟子たちが来た。そして彼らは彼が一人の女性と話しているので驚いた。しかし誰も「あなたは何をお求めですか？」とも、「どうして彼女とお話しておられるのですか？」と尋ねる者はいなかった。

28.　その女性は、水がめをおいて自分の町に行って、その〔町の〕人々に言った。

29.　「今まで私がしたことを全部言い当てた男の人がいます。来て会ってみてください。この人がキリストではないでしょうか？」

30.　そこで、彼らはその町から出て、彼のところに来た。

31.　その間、彼の弟子たちは彼に勧めて言った。「ラビ、お食べ下さい。」

32.　しかし、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「私には汝らが知らない食べ物がある。」

33.　そこで弟子たちは互いに言い合った。「誰か彼に食べるものを何か持ってきて差し上げたのか？」

34.　イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「私の食べ物というのは、私を遣わされている方の御旨を行って彼の御業を成し終えることだ。

35.　汝らは、『あと４ヶ月したら収穫時期が来る』と言ってはいないか？見よ。私は言う。汝らの目を上げよ。また、諸々の畑を見よ。それらはすでに収穫の色[2]である。

36.　そして、刈る人々は報酬を受けている。また、永遠の命のための実を集めている。それは、蒔いている人と刈っている人が一緒に喜ぶためだ。

37.　だから、こう言われているのは真実である。『一人が蒔く。そして一人は刈る。』

38.　私は汝らを、汝ら自身は働かないで、他の人々が働いてきたものを刈り取らせるために送り出した。そして、汝らは彼らの労働に加わっている。」

39.　さて、サマリヤの町の多くの人々が「彼は私が今までしたことを言い当てた」と証し　した女性の言葉によって彼を信じた。

40.　そこで、そのサマリヤの人々は彼の所に来ると、彼に、彼らの所に滞在するように強いて願ったで彼はそこに二日間滞在された。

41.　そして、さらに多くの人々が彼ご自身の御言葉を聞いて信じた。

42.　その時、彼らはあの女性に言った。「今や、私たちはあなたが言ったから信じているのではない。私たち自身が彼からお聞きし、この方こそ確かにキリスト、この世界の救い主であると信じているのだ。」

43.　さて、二日の後、彼はそこを出発してガリラヤに行かれた。

44.　イエスは、ご自身で預言者はご自分の町では尊敬されないと証しされていたからである。

45.　彼がガリラヤにお出でになると、そのガリラヤの人々は彼が祭りの時にエルサレムでなさった事を全部見ていたので、彼を受け入れた。彼らもまたその祭りに行っていたからである。

46.　そこで、イエスは水をワインにされたガリラヤのカナに再び行かれた。すると、そこに息子がカペルナウムで病に伏している[3]有力者がいた。

47.　彼はイエスがユダからガリラヤにお出でになったことを聞きつけ、彼の所に来て、下ってきて彼が彼の息子を癒して下さるように嘆願した。彼は死にかかっていたからである。

48.　その時、イエスは彼に仰せになった。「汝らは徴と不思議とを見ない限り、決して信じない。」

49.　その有力者rは彼に言った。「主よ、私の子供が死ぬ前に下ってきて下さい！」

50.　イエスは彼に仰せになった。「帰りなさい。あなたの息子は生きている。」そこで、その男性はイエスが彼に仰せになった言葉を信じて帰って行った。

51.　そして、彼が下っていく途中に彼の僕たちが彼に会って言った。「あなたの息子様は生きております！」

52.　その時、彼は彼らに、何時に彼が良くなったのかと訪ねた。すると、彼らは彼に言った。「昨日の第七時頃、熱が引きました。」

53.　そこで、その父親はイエスが彼に「あなたの息子は生きている」と仰せになったのと同じ時間であったのを知った。そこで、彼自身が信じた。また彼の家の者たちも全員が信じた。

54.　これはイエスが、ユダヤから出てガリラヤにお入りになってからなさった二番目の徴である。

Joh 4:1  Therefore when the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John

Joh 4:2  (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),

Joh 4:3  He left Judea and went away again into Galilee.

Joh 4:4  And it was necessary for Him to go through Samaria,

Joh 4:5  Then He came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

Joh 4:6  And Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus upon the well. It was about the sixth hour.

Joh 4:7  A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give me to drink.

Joh 4:8  (For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)

Joh 4:9  Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, How do you, being a Jew, ask a drink of me, who am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews do not associate with Samaritans.

Joh 4:10  Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give Me to drink, you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water.

Joh 4:11  The woman said to Him, Sir, you have no vessel, and the well is deep. From where then do you have that living water?

Joh 4:12  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his children and his cattle?

Joh 4:13  Jesus answered and said to her, Whoever drinks of this water shall thirst again,

Joh 4:14  but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Joh 4:15  The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water, so that I may not thirst nor come here to draw.

Joh 4:16  Jesus said to her, Go, call your husband and come here.

Joh 4:17  The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, You have well said, I have no husband

Joh 4:18  for you have had five husbands, and he whom you now have is not your husband. In that you spoke truly.

Joh 4:19  The woman said to Him, Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.

Joh 4:20  Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

Joh 4:21  Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you shall neither worship the Father in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem.

Joh 4:22  You worship what you do not know, we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

Joh 4:23  But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him.

Joh 4:24  God is a spirit, and they who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.

Joh 4:25  The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ. When He has come, He will tell us all things.

Joh 4:26  Jesus said to her, I AM, the One speaking to you.

Joh 4:27  And upon this His disciples came and marveled that He talked with the woman. However, no one said, What do You seek, or why do You talk with her?

Joh 4:28  The woman then left her waterpot and went into the city and said to the men,

Joh 4:29  Come see a man who told me all things that I ever did. Is this One not the Christ?

Joh 4:30  And they went out of the city and came to Him.

Joh 4:31  In the meantime His disciples were asking Him, saying, Master, eat.

Joh 4:32  But He said to them, I have food to eat which you do not know.

Joh 4:33  Therefore the disciples said to one another, No one brought Him anything to eat?

Joh 4:34  Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.

Joh 4:35  Do you not say, It is yet four months, and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white to harvest already.

Joh 4:36  And he who reaps receives wages and gathers fruit to life eternal, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

Joh 4:37  And in this is the saying true, One sows and another reaps.

Joh 4:38  I sent you to reap that on which you bestowed no labor. Other men labored, and you have entered into their labor.

Joh 4:39  And many of the Samaritans of that city believed upon Him because of the saying of the woman, who testified, He told me all that I ever did.

Joh 4:40  Then as the Samaritans had come to Him, they begged Him that He would stay with them. And He stayed there two days.

Joh 4:41  And many more believed because of His own word.

Joh 4:42  And they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying, for we have heard Him ourselves and know that this is truly the Christ, the Savior of the world.

Joh 4:43  And after two days He departed from there and went into Galilee.

Joh 4:44  For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own native-place.

Joh 4:45  Then when He had come into Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did at Jerusalem at the feast; for they also went to the feast.

Joh 4:46  Then Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

Joh 4:47  When He heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and begged Him that He would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

Joh 4:48  Then Jesus said to him, Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.

Joh 4:49  The nobleman said to Him, Sir, come down before my child dies.

Joh 4:50  Jesus said to him, Go, your son lives. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken to him, and he went away.

Joh 4:51  And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, Your son lives.

Joh 4:52  Then he asked of them the hour when he began to get better. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

Joh 4:53  So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Your son lives. And he himself believed, and his whole house.

Joh 4:54  This is the second miracle Jesus did, when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.

 Joh 5:1  こののち、ユダヤ人の祭があったので、イエスはエルサレムに上られた。 

Joh 5:2  エルサレムにある羊の門のそばに、ヘブル語でベテスダと呼ばれる池があった。そこには五つの廊があった。 

Joh 5:3  その廊の中には、病人、盲人、足なえ、やせ衰えた者などが、大ぜいからだを横たえていた。〔彼らは水の動くのを待っていたのである。 

Joh 5:4  それは、時々、主の御使がこの池に降りてきて水を動かすことがあるが、水が動いた時まっ先にはいる者は、どんな病気にかかっていても、いやされたからである。〕 

Joh 5:5  さて、そこに三十八年のあいだ、病気に悩んでいる人があった。 

Joh 5:6  イエスはその人が横になっているのを見、また長い間わずらっていたのを知って、その人に「なおりたいのか」と言われた。 

Joh 5:7  この病人はイエスに答えた、「主よ、水が動く時に、わたしを池の中に入れてくれる人がいません。わたしがはいりかけると、ほかの人が先に降りて行くのです」。 

Joh 5:8  イエスは彼に言われた、「起きて、汝の床を取りあげて歩きなさい」。 

Joh 5:9  すると、この人はすぐにいやされ、床をとりあげて歩いて行った。その日は安息日であった。 

Joh 5:10  そこでユダヤ人たちは、そのいやされた人に言った、「きょうは安息日だ。床を取りあげるのは、よろしくない」。 

Joh 5:11  彼は答えた、「わたしをなおして下さったかたが、床を取りあげて歩けと、わたしに言われました」。 

Joh 5:12  彼らは尋ねた、「取りあげて歩けと言った人は、だれか」。 

Joh 5:13  しかし、このいやされた人は、それがだれであるか知らなかった。群衆がその場にいたので、イエスはそっと出て行かれたからである。 

Joh 5:14  そののち、イエスは宮でその人に出会ったので、彼に言われた、「ごらん、汝はよくなった。もう罪を犯してはいけない。何かもっと悪いことが、汝の身に起るかも知れないから」。 

Joh 5:15  彼は出て行って、自分をいやしたのはイエスであったと、ユダヤ人たちに告げた。 

Joh 5:16  そのためユダヤ人たちは、安息日にこのようなことをしたと言って、イエスを責めた。 

Joh 5:17  そこで、イエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしの父は今に至るまで働いておられる。わたしも働くのである」。 

Joh 5:18  このためにユダヤ人たちは、ますますイエスを殺そうと計るようになった。それは、イエスが安息日を破られたばかりではなく、天の神を自分の父と呼んで、自分を神と等しいものとされたからである。 

Joh 5:19  さて、イエスは彼らに答えて言われた、「よくよく汝に言っておく。子は父のなさることを見てする以外に、自分からは何事もすることができない。父のなさることであればすべて、子もそのとおりにするのである。 

Joh 5:20  なぜなら、父は子を愛して、みずからなさることは、すべて子にお示しになるからである。そして、それよりもなお大きなわざを、お示しになるであろう。汝らが、それによって不思議に思うためである。 

Joh 5:21  すなわち、父が死人を起して命をお与えになるように、子もまた、そのこころにかなう人々に命を与えるであろう。 

Joh 5:22  父はだれをもさばかない。さばきのことはすべて、子にゆだねられたからである。 

Joh 5:23  それは、すべての人が父を敬うと同様に、子を敬うためである。子を敬わない者は、子をつかわされた父をも敬わない。 

Joh 5:24  よくよく汝らに言っておく。わたしの言葉を聞いて、わたしをつかわされたかたを信じる者は、永遠の命を受け、またさばかれることがなく、死から命に移っているのである。 

Joh 5:25  よくよく汝らに言っておく。死んだ人たちが、神の子の声を聞く時が来る。今すでにきている。そして聞く人は生きるであろう。 

Joh 5:26  それは、父がご自分のうちに生命をお持ちになっていると同様に、子にもまた、自分のうちに生命を持つことをお許しになったからである。 

Joh 5:27  そして子は人の子であるから、子にさばきを行う権威をお与えになった。 

Joh 5:28  このことを驚くには及ばない。墓の中にいる者たちがみな神の子の声を聞き、 

Joh 5:29  善をおこなった人々は、生命を受けるためによみがえり、悪をおこなった人々は、さばきを受けるためによみがえって、それぞれ出てくる時が来るであろう。 

Joh 5:30  わたしは、自分からは何事もすることができない。ただ聞くままにさばくのである。そして、わたしのこのさばきは正しい。それは、わたし自身の考えでするのではなく、わたしをつかわされたかたの、み旨を求めているからである。 

Joh 5:31  もし、わたしが自分自身についてあかしをするならば、わたしのあかしは真実ではない。 

Joh 5:32  わたしについてあかしをするかたはほかにあり、そして、その人がするあかしが真実であることを、わたしは知っている。 

Joh 5:33  汝らたはヨハネのもとへ人をつかわしたが、そのとき彼は真理についてあかしをした。 

Joh 5:34  わたしは人からあかしを受けないが、このことを言うのは、汝らが救われるためである。 

Joh 5:35  ヨハネは燃えて輝くあかりであった。汝らは、しばらくの間その光を喜び楽しもうとした。 

Joh 5:36  しかし、わたしには、ヨハネのあかしよりも、もっと力あるあかしがある。父がわたしに成就させようとしてお与えになったわざ、すなわち、今わたしがしているこのわざが、父のわたしをつかわされたことをあかししている。

Joh 5:38  また、神がつかわされた者を信じないから、神の御言は汝らのうちにとどまっていない。 

Joh 5:39  あなたがたは、聖書の中に永遠の命があると思って調べているが、この聖書は、わたしについてあかしをするものである。 

Joh 5:40  しかも、汝らは、命を得るためにわたしのもとにこようともしない。 

Joh 5:41  わたしは人からの誉を受けることはしない。 

Joh 5:42  しかし、汝らのうちには神を愛する愛がないことを知っている。 

Joh 5:43  わたしは父の名によってきたのに、汝らはわたしを受けいれない。もし、ほかの人が彼自身の名によって来るならば、その人を受けいれるのであろう。 

Joh 5:44  互に誉を受けながら、ただひとりの神からの誉を求めようとしない汝らは、どうして信じることができようか。 

Joh 5:45  わたしが汝らはことを父に訴えると、考えてはいけない。汝らを訴える者は、汝らが頼みとしているモーセその人である。 

Joh 5:46  もし、汝らがモーセを信じたならば、わたしをも信じたであろう。モーセは、わたしについて書いたのである。 

Joh 5:47  しかし、モーセの書いたものを信じないならば、どうしてわたしの言葉を信じるだろうか」。

６章

1.　これらのことの後、イエスはガリラヤの海、（ティベリアの海）を越えて行かれた。

2.　その時、非常に多くの群衆が彼について行った。彼らは病んでいる人々に対して彼がなさった徴を見たからである。

3.　するとイエスは山に上って行き、そこで彼の弟子たちと一緒に腰をおかけになった。

4.　ところで、パスカ[1]という、ユダヤ人たちの祭りが近づいていた。

5.　その時、イエスは彼の目を上げて、非常に多くの群衆が彼の方に来るのをご覧になった。彼はピリポに仰せになった。「どこから、私たちはこれらの人々が食べるためのパンを買おうか？」

6.　しかし、この事を彼は彼を試すために仰せになったのである。彼はご自分がすべき事を知っておられたからである。

7.　ピリポは彼に答えた。「二百デナリ分のパンがあって、皆が一人分が少しづつ食べるとしても彼らには足りません。」

8.　彼の弟子の一人で、シモン-ペテロの兄弟アンドレが彼に言った。

9.　「ここに、大麦パン五つと二匹の小さな魚を持っている子供がおります。でも、こんなにも大勢の間では何になりましょう？」

10.　その時イエスは仰せになった。「男たちを座らせなさい。」さて、その場所には多くの草があった。そこで、男性たちは座ったがおよそ五千人ほどであった。

11.　そして、イエスはそのパンをお取りになった。そして彼は感謝を捧げると、彼はそれらを彼の弟子たちに配られた。そして弟子たちは座っている人々に分配した。また、魚も同じように、彼らが欲しいだけ〔食べさせた〕。

12.　彼らが満ち足りると、彼は弟子たちに仰せになった。「一つもなくならないように、まだ残っているかけらを集めなさい。」

13.　そこで、彼らはそれらを拾い上げた。そしてその手かごが、彼らが食べ残して放っていたその５つの大麦パンのかけらで一杯になった。

14.　その時、イエスがなさった徴を見てきた人々が言った。「この方こそこの世界に来られた、真実の預言者だ。」

15.　イエスは彼らが来て彼を力づくで王にしようとしているのを知られたので、彼はもう一度お一人で山に出発された。

16.　ところで、夕が来ると彼の弟子たちは海に下って行って、

17.　小舟に乗った。そしてカペルナウムに向かって海を渡って行った。そして、すでに暗くなっていたが、（そして）イエスは彼らの所にお出でにならなかった。

18.　その時、海に非常に強い風が起こって吹いていた。

19.　そこで、彼らが３マイルから４マイル漕ぎ出していると、彼らはイエスが海の上を歩いてその小舟に近づいてこられるのを見たので彼らは恐れた。

20.　しかし彼は彼らに仰せになった。「私だ。恐れるな。」

21.　そこで彼らは彼をその小舟に迎え入れようとした。すると、小舟はすぐに彼らが行こうとしていた所に接岸した。

22.　次の日、人々が海の向こう岸で立っていて、そこには彼の弟子たちが乗っていたもの以外には、ほかに小舟が一艘もないことと、また、イエスは彼の弟子たちと一緒にその小舟に乗らずに、彼の弟子たちだけで立ち去っていたことがわかった。

23.　しかし、他の小舟たちが、ティベリアスから主が感謝を捧げた後、彼らがパンを食べた所に近い場所に来た。

24.　そしてその人々は、イエスがそこにおられず、彼の弟子たちもいないので、彼らもまたそれらの小舟に乗り込み、イエスを捜しにカペルナウムに行った。

25.　そして、彼らは海の対岸で彼を見つけて彼に言った。「ラビ、あなたはいつここにお出でになったのですか？」

26.　イエスは彼らに答えて仰せになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私はあなたがたに言う。あなたがたが私を探しているのはしるしをみたからではない。あなたがたがパンを食べて満ち足りたからだ。

27.　滅びるパンのためではなく、永遠の命に耐え得る食物のために働きなさい。それは人の子があなたがたに与えるものだ。天の神であられる父が彼に印を押しておられるからだ。」

28.　その時、彼らは彼に言った。「天の神のわざ行うために、私たちは何をすべきですか？」

29.　イエスは答えて彼らに仰せになった。「天の神のわざとは、すなわち、あなたがたが彼がおつかわしになった者を信じていることだ。」

30.　そこで、彼らは彼に言った。「それなら、私たちがそれを見てあなたを信じられるように、あなたはどんな徴をみせてくれますか？あなたはどんなわざをしてくれますか？

31.　私たちの祖先たちは、荒野でマナを食べていました。『彼は彼らに天からのパンを与えて食べさせた』と書いてありますが。」

32.　そこでイエスは彼らに仰せになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私は汝らに言う。モーセが天からのパンを与えたのではなく、私の父が天から真のパンを与えたのだ。

33.　天の神のパンは天から下って来てこの世界に命を与えている者[2]であるからだ。」

34.　その時、彼らは彼に言った。「主よ、私たちにこのパンをいつも下さい。」

35.　するとイエスは彼らに仰せになった。「私が命のパンである。私に来ている者は決して飢えない。また、私を信じている者は決して渇かない。

36.　しかし、私は汝らに言う。汝らは私を見たが、それでも信じない。

37.　父が私に下さるものは全て私のところに来る。そして、私のところに来る人を私は決して見放さない。

38.　私が天から下って来たのは、私の思いを行うためではなく、私を遣わされた方の御心を行うためなのだから。

39.　私にお与えになった全ての者を、私が誰も失わないで最後の日によみがえらせる事こそが私を遣わされた父の御心なのだ。

40.　そして、私を遣わされた方の御心は、誰でも息子を見て彼を信じる人が永遠の命を持つことなのだ。そして、私は彼を最後の日[3]によみがえらせる。」

41.　その時、ユダヤ人たちは彼に不満を持った。彼が「私は天から下ってきたパンだ。」と仰せになったからである。

42.　そして彼らは言った。「このイエスは、あのヨセフの息子で、彼の父親と母親とは我々が知っているではないか？それならどうして彼は言うのか？『私は天から下ってきた』などと？」

43.　そこでイエスは答えて彼らに仰せになった。「汝らは不平を言っていてはいけない。

44.　誰も、私を遣わされた父が引き寄せなければ、私のところに来る事はできない。そして、私はその人を最後の日によみがえらせる。

45.　それは、預言者たちが『そして、彼らは皆天の神によって教えられた。』と書いているとおりだ。だから、父から聞き、そして学んでいた人は皆私の所に来ている。

46.　天の神の所から来た者のほかには、誰も父を見た人はいない。彼は父を見てきたのだ。

47.　アーメン、アーメン、私は汝らに言う。私を信じている人は永遠の命を持っている。

48.　私は命のパンである。

49.　あなたがたの先祖達はマナを荒野で食べた。そして、死んだ。

50.　これは人がそれを食べて死なないために、天から下ってきたパンなのだ。

51.　私は天から下ってきた生きているパンである。もし誰かがこのパンを食べているなら、その人（彼）は永久に生きる。そして、私が与えるパンは私の肉であって、私がこの世界の命として与えるものだ。」

52.　ユダヤ人たちは、そのようなわけで彼らの間で言い争ってこう言った。「どうやってこの男は我々に彼の肉を食べるためにくれるというのか？」

53.　その時、イエスは彼らに仰せになった。「アーメン、アーメン、私は汝らに言う。汝らが人の子の肉を食べず、また、彼の血を飲んでいないなら、汝らは自分の（あなたがたの）内に命を持っていない。

54.　誰でも私の肉を食べ、また私の血を飲んでいる人は永遠の命を持っている。そして、私は、彼を終りの日によみがえらせよう。

55.　なぜなら、私の肉が本当の食べ物であり、また私の血こそ本当の飲み物なのだ。

56.　私の肉を食べており、また私の血を飲んでいる人ならば私に留まっており、また私もその人（彼）の内にいる。

57.　生ける父が私をお遣わしになり、そして私が父によって生きているように、私を食べている人は私によって生きている。

58.　これは天から下ってきたパンであって、あなたがたの祖先たちが食べ、そして死んだマナのようなものではない。このパンを食べている人（彼）は永遠に生きる。」

59.　これらのことを、彼はカペルナウムでお教えになったように、シナゴーグで仰せになった。

60.　そのようなわけで、彼の弟子たちの多くの人々は、この事を聞いて言った。「これはまた難しい事を。誰がそれを理解できるだろうか？」

61.　イエスが彼自身の内に、彼の弟子たちがこの事について不平を言っているのを知ると、彼は彼らに仰せになった。「この事が汝らのつまづきになっているのか？

62.　それなら、もし、汝らが人の子が、以前にいた所に上っていくのを見るならどうなのか？

63.　(人を)生かしている[4]のは霊である。肉は何の利益も得させない！私が汝らが語っているこの言葉は霊であり、また命なのである。

64.　しかし、汝らの中には、信じていない人たちがいる。」イエスは最初から信じていなかった人たちが誰か、また、誰が彼を売り渡すのかを知っておられた。

65.　そして彼は仰せになった。「それだから、私はあなたがたに私の父がその人にお許しにならなかったならば、誰も私のところに来る事はできないといっておいたのだ。」

66.　その時から、彼の弟子たちのうちの多くの人々は、帰って行ってしまい、もはや彼と共に歩まなかった。

67.　その時、イエスは十二人に仰せになった。「あなたたちもまた去って行きたいのか？」

68.　しかし、シモンペテロが彼に答えた。「主よ、私たちが誰の所に行くというのですか？あなたは永遠の命の言葉をお持ちです。

69.　私たちはまた、あなたこそがキリスト、生ける天の神の御子であられることを知り、また信じるようになりました。」

70.　イエスは彼らにお答えになった。「私が汝ら十二人を選んだのではなかったか。しかし、あなたたちのうちの一人は悪魔（ディアボロス）なのか？」

71.　彼はシモンの息子、イスカリオットのユダのことを仰せになっていた。彼を売り渡すのは十二人の一人の、彼だからである。

Joh 6:1  After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, the Sea of Tiberias.

Joh 6:2  And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on the sick ones.

Joh 6:3  And Jesus went up into a mountain and sat there with His disciples.

Joh 6:4  And the Passover was near, a feast of the Jews.

Joh 6:5  Then Jesus lifted up His eyes and saw a great crowd come to Him. He said to Philip, Where shall we buy loaves so that these may eat?

Joh 6:6  And He said this to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.

Joh 6:7  Philip answered Him, Loaves for two hundred denarii are not enough for them, that every one may take a little.

Joh 6:8  One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

Joh 6:9  There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are these among so many?

Joh 6:10  And Jesus said, Make the men recline. And there was much grass in the place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.

Joh 6:11  And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who had reclined; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.

Joh 6:12  And when they were filled, He said to His disciples, Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing is lost.

Joh 6:13  Therefore they gathered and filled twelve handbaskets with fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over to those who had eaten.

Joh 6:14  Then seeing the miracle that Jesus did, those men said, This is truly the Prophet, the One coming into the world.

Joh 6:15  Therefore when Jesus perceived that they would come and take Him by force, that they might make Him a king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain alone by Himself.

Joh 6:16  And when evening had come, the disciples went down to the sea

Joh 6:17  and entered into a boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

Joh 6:18  And the sea rose up because of a great wind that blew.

Joh 6:19  Then having rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the ship. And they were afraid.

Joh 6:20  But He said to them, I AM! Do not be afraid.

Joh 6:21  Then they willingly received Him into the boat. And immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.

Joh 6:22  The following day, the crowd standing on the other side of the sea had seen that there was no other little boat there except that one into which His disciples had entered, and when they saw that Jesus did not go with His disciples into the little boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone,

Joh 6:23  (however, other boats from Tiberias came near the place where they ate the loaves, the Lord having given thanks),

Joh 6:24  therefore, when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves also entered into the boats and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.

Joh 6:25  And when they had found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, Rabbi, when did you come here?

Joh 6:26  Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek Me not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.

Joh 6:27  Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father sealed Him.

Joh 6:28  Then they said to Him, What shall we do that we might work the works of God?

Joh 6:29  Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent.

Joh 6:30  Therefore they said to Him, What sign do you show then, so that we may see and believe you? What do you work?

Joh 6:31  Our fathers ate the manna in the desert, as it is written, "He gave them bread from Heaven to eat."

Joh 6:32  Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you that bread from Heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from Heaven.

Joh 6:33  For the bread of God is He who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world.

Joh 6:34  Then they said to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

Joh 6:35  And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes on Me shall never thirst.

Joh 6:36  But I said to you that you also have seen Me and do not believe.

Joh 6:37  All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out.

Joh 6:38  For I came down from Heaven, not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me.

Joh 6:39  And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day.

Joh 6:40  And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:41  Then the Jews murmured about Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from Heaven.

Joh 6:42  And they said, Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How now does this One say, I have come down from Heaven?

Joh 6:43  Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.

Joh 6:44  No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:45  It is written in the Prophets, "And they shall all be taught of God." Therefore everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to Me.

Joh 6:46  Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God, He has seen the Father.

Joh 6:47  Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me has everlasting life.

Joh 6:48  I am the Bread of life.

Joh 6:49  Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.

Joh 6:50  This is the Bread which comes down from Heaven, so that a man may eat of it and not die.

Joh 6:51  I am the Living Bread which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he shall live forever. And truly the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Joh 6:52  Then the Jews argued with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Joh 6:53  Then Jesus says to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves.

Joh 6:54  Whoever partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:55  For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.

Joh 6:56  He who partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood dwells in Me, and I in him.

Joh 6:57  As the living Father has sent Me, and I live through the Father, so he who partakes of Me, even he shall live by Me.

Joh 6:58  This is the Bread which came down from Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who partakes of this Bread shall live forever.

Joh 6:59  He said these things in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

Joh 6:60  Then when they had heard, many of His disciples said, This is a hard saying, who can hear it?

Joh 6:61  But knowing in Himself that His disciples murmured about it, Jesus said to them, Does this offend you?

Joh 6:62  Then what if you should see the Son of Man going up where He was before?

Joh 6:63  It is the Spirit that makes alive, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life.

Joh 6:64  But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who is the one betraying Him.

Joh 6:65  And He said, Because of this I said to you that no one can come to Me unless it was given to him from My Father.

Joh 6:66  From this time many of His disciples went back into the things behind, and walked no more with Him.

Joh 6:67  Then Jesus said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go away?

Joh 6:68  Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life.

Joh 6:69  And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Joh 6:70  Jesus answered them, Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? And one of you is a devil?

Joh 6:71  But he spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for it was he who was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.
